I have two clans that are bouncing every 4 hours. The Servers are dual 8720's running CM3.1. When I check the IP Events I see the following:

20080528:003528632:204006:gip(4803):MED:[ IPEVT IF_DOWN board=01A02 ip= 10.19.6.17 net_reg= 2 type= CLAN reason=config-chg]
20080528:003528649:204045:gip(4803):MED:[ IPEVT IF_DOWN board=01A12 ip= 10.19.6.2 net_reg= 1 type= CLAN reason=config-chg]
20080528:003650279:204396:gip(4803):MED:[ IPEVT IF_UP board=01A12 ip= 10.19.6.2 net_reg= 1 type= CLAN reason=responded]
20080528:003656818:204443:gip(4803):MED:[ IPEVT IF_UP board=01A02 ip= 10.19.6.17 net_reg= 2 type= CLAN reason=responded]

I can find no documentation the discusses "config-chg". A third clan and medpro are not having this issue. Any sujestions?

Make sure the network ports these are plugged into are all locked at 100FULL and also make sure to lock them at the same on the avaya side.

Let me guess, you have CISCO ethernet switches, and your CLANs and/or CISCO ethernet switch ports are not BOTH locked to "100MB / Full Duplex", but one or both sides are set to "auto / auto"

Try changing the IP Interface and locking the speed to 100MB, and the duplex to Full. Do the saem on the CISCO ethernet switch ports.

we had similar problems as well... They lingered for months before they started becoming a problem. As long as load was small, you would never see an issue.

However odd things occured during peak call times and after months of investigation we found that several of the ethernet settings were incorrect and not locked down.

Also... Make sure nothing is set to HALF duplex as well.

Once we did this... It was like a night/day difference.

Good luck.

The kicker is both sides need to be locked at 100FULL.

If one side is set to auto .. it will negotiat to 100Half.

Thats like putting go kart motor in a Corvette. on the outside it looks nice, but when it comes time to perform is sputters.
