Does anyone know of any problems associated with Citrix and not allowing you to Shadow someone's session in the Citrix Server administration form? Sometimes when certain users login to our server we are not able to shadow their session from certain workstations. If we try and shadow that same user from a different workstation in the same domain with the same rights, we are able to. Is there any way that screen resolutions on both the server and the client side come into play that would not allow you to shadow? We noticed that the user may have had a 1024x768 screen resolution on their side, and our server and the workstation that we were trying to shadow the session on both had 800x600. To top that off the workstation that we were trying to use to "shadow" the other session had a projector connected to it that only supported 800x600 resolution.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Yeah, we've had several issues with shadowing....and the graphics settings were the culprit...if I remember correctly it was only the screen resolution on the 2 machines that caused the problem and not color settings etc...

we have tried to "standardise" as much as possible on 800x600 desktop settings.....

Hi
Some points about shadowing from The Thin Client Solutions: Implementin Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe book by Todd W. Mathers and Shawn P. Genoway
* The shadower's resolution must be equal to or greater than that of the person to be shadowed.
* The shadower's session must have the same color depth as the person to be shadowed
and multiple people can shadow the same user session simultaneously, but you cannot shadow a session the is currently busy shadowing someone else.
Hope this helps a bit.
