Because Microsoft's latest version of RDP is so much improved, we are using Citrix less and less. But, I still have users who need to connect with Citrix. Many of our users have experienced these two problems.
1. Servers that run Citrix are substantially slower booting and operating than identical servers running only Terminal Server.
2. Some users experience excessive harddrive activity the second they open Citrix. In these cases the sessions are extremely slow for quite some time as the drive keeps hammering away. The latest Citrix client is installed and this problem has been noted on W98 but not XP. Uninstalling and reinstalling Citrix client makes no difference, even with a registry cleanup.
If anyone has experienced these issues with Citrix I'd like to hear from you. If you have solutions, even better. Thanks.
