Citrix Session - Screen Refresh Delay?

Hi all,

I have a problem with a Citrix Server. I am using bespoke software within a Citrix session. Please note I have already done testing to prove that the problem is not with the bespoke software as it works fine on another server.

When I close certain screens there is a delay in the screen refreshing. To give you more detail, what basically happens is that the screen will disappear in segments, so the labels will disappear, then the text boxes and then eventually the whole screen. This can take around 10 seconds and gets progressively worse the more times you do it. On other servers this is instant.

I have applied all the latest patches for Citrix and installed SP2 for Windows 2003 Server along with all available updates from Windows Update.

Has anyone seen anything similar to this or have any suggestions at all for me to try?

So is this application load-balanced within Citrix?
You mentioned you had another server that the application ran fine on.

If so, are the servers identical (hardware wise)?
Usually screen refresh issue comes down to bandwidth. Are you launching this application from a remote site out of the local LAN of the Citrix server?

Here are a couple of things you can do:
1. Try to launch the application local to that Citrix server (LAN). See how it acts and try to rule out the actual server.
2. Try to launch the application within a RDP desktop session and see if it acts the same way.
