Was curious how other people have their anti virus software configured. We use symantec here and under the advanced tab for real-time protection there is a setting for auto-protect to scan only modified files or access or modified files.

Has anyone seen any differences?

We do several things when we are deploying Citrix Servers with Symantec AV....

1. Move the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\vptray entry to the HLCU for administrator.

2. Set the real tiem scan as you said.

3. Regularly update the Sym Event driver to newer versions becuase this can make a huge difference to the scanning performance.

Hope it helps - If there are any other specific queries please post back.

Mike
