I have an account that accesses citrix via a web based link - using ADSL. They can connect fine, but when they step away for a moment (time varies), they lose connection to the citrix server. The remote clients are W2k - I do not know what their vendor (host site) is running on. They tell them it's on their side (remote). Internet always works, so I am hunting a reason why the sessions would time out or just lose connection. We are running NAT, but am told that shouldn't cause the problem we are experiencing. I am not a citrix expert by any means. Any ideas is greatly appreciated.

I would sugegst the following regkeys on the server:

[KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"KeepAliveTime"=dword:0000ea60
"KeepAliveInterval"=dword:000003e8

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix]
"IcaEnableKeepAlive"=dword:00000001
"IcaKeepAliveInterval"=dword:0000003c

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"TcpMaxDataRetransmissions"="10"

Also check all hardware like routers, firewalls and managed switches
for idle settings, and make sure they are not active.

I have no control over the server side. They state everyone else is working at other remote sites - so it must be something on our end. I have looked at the firewall - everything appears fine. We never lose internet at all - just citrix session connection - and only when it's left idle for a few seconds or sometimes, minutes. There is no installed citrix software on these remote clients - just a web link. I read something about changing the MTU settings on W2k. Anyone aware if that would help? Still open for suggestions. Thanks

This one can also be done on the client:
[KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"KeepAliveTime"=dword:0000ea60
"KeepAliveInterval"=dword:000003e8

Check the hardware on the clientside for idle options.

As far as MTU is concerned:

HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters\interfaces\"ID for Adapter"

Add a dword value MTU with a value of 1492 decimal

(Default MTU for ethernet = 1500, for DSL = 1492, dial-up = 576)
