Citrix receiver client within Xen APP 6.5

Hi guys,

I'm not very familiar with Citrix. A client is deploying a virtual desktop solutions using thin clients. I understand their approach is more of a shared server rather than individual virtual desktop. They are using Xenapp 6.5 although I'm unsure if this is directly related.

Is XenApp required for the VDI part of citrix or is it just (likely) that once their virtual desktop is created, they will be using XenApp to access applications within the virtual desktop?

Sounds more likely that they will be using a shared desktop model with the thin clients booting into an ICA session.

VDI solution would be via XenDesktop rather than XenApp, although some places mix and match.
