Dear All

I have one citrix XPs server, this sits behind an ISA server. all the relevant ports in the ISA server have been configured.

When using a VPN connection using the ICA Client from a remote client, I can connect to the complete server. however, when I try to connect to the published application, it says that no citrix server can be found?

Any suggestions would be grately appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Suhail

As I understand things the Client will find the server from the settings in PN and the server returns its IP address to the Client. However, if the server is behind a firewall it will not be able to establish a return connection to the issued IP. This will not prevent a custom ICA connection from being established but it will stop it connecting to a published application.

Investigate the ALTADDR command which basically makes the Citrix server issue an alternate address to the client. This alternate address should be set to the external IP of the firewall.

Hope this helps.

You'll probably need to configure the client to request the alternate address as well.

You do.

In the Server Location settings on the Client there is a Firewalls button and in there is an option to Use Alternate Address For Firewall Connection. This must be selected if the ALTADDR setting on the Server is enabled.
