Hello folks, This is my first thread, I hope I do this right....
i have a citrix server farm running meteframe xp on 3 w2k advanced servers and have apprx 150 users. out of the 150 users 2 of them are having printing problems. i have narrowed down the problem to printer defaults. By default when the printer is auto created it is set to spool the print job, that does not work for them; although if I change that setting (while their online) to print directly to printer I can print test pages, they can print anything, then when they log off and back on it is reset back to spool print job. can somebody let me know where I can set this up. Thank you for any tips on this..

When you say "if I change that setting (while their online) to print directly to printer" do you mean you are changing the printer setting on the Citrix side or their PC side?

You need to set the printer defaults on their PC while they are NOT connected.

Citrix Srever Side. I ask them to log on, I look at their "auto Created" printer, I then select properties on the "auto Created" printer and change the spool option to "print directly to printer" instead of "Spool documents". Although after they log off and back on it changes back.

jdemmi (MIS) said "You need to set the printer defaults on their PC while they are NOT connected."

Thank you, I will do that!

went to the users location, set the printer to "print directly to printer" on her side, then had her log. Our citrix server still took took "Spool Documents" option when it created her printer which does not work.

Thank you,

The tip is to prevent the AutoCreated printers from being deleted. You can do this after they log on by deleting the Comment for the printer. It will say 'Autocreated printer.... etc.' Just delete that, and it won't get deleted, and thus retain your settings.
