heres my situation.
citrix server is on a private ip 192.x.x.x through NAT
my main ip is 66.x.x.x

how can i set it up so clients can connnect through to the server. i tryed connecting clients through the 66.x.x.x address but it didn't work.

citrix server is on windows 2000.(installed through connectix virtual pc)

Don't know what Connectix Virtual PC is, but normally -

1. Firewall must have a translation from 66 address to 192 address.
2. Set external address on Citrix Server using altaddr command.

PS - The Shift key is the one between <Caps Lock> and <Ctrl> on the left of the keyboard. Help us out, at least make it readable. Cheers,
Sam

so when connecting with client i connect with the xp's public ip then it should revert to the private ip to where the citrix server is located?

I'm just cutting and pasting some stuff I've already typed up in another thread:

You are going to have to do some setup on the citrix servers, (all of them that are in the same farm). And if you are using .ica files, you'll need to edit them slightly. The links below might help.

To prepare your servers (I believe you'll only need steps 1-4):

To create an .ica file: Right click on the published app in the management console and select create ica file.

If you are using a firewall that is translating the internal address to the external (NAT) do the following (and make sure you've got ports 1494 and 443 open on the firewall):

You'll need to open the .ica file in notepad and edit a couple of things here. For one, you'll need to change the internal ip address to the external and you'll have to do the following:
Find the [TCP/IP] section. Specify 1 for the UseAlternateAddress field. For example:
UseAlternateAddress = 1

Then save the changes and try launching the file from outside of your network.

The Citrix ICA Client tells the server to send the alternate address specified with the Altaddr utility.
