Anyone have any suggestions... We are using FR now (publishing a desktop via Citrix) across our WAN. Latency is killing us...

Will MPLS be any better????

Any input will help!!!!!!
Thanks!

Recently did a migration of a 25 site frame based solution to MPLS. He was not running Citrix. In subsequent conversations and analysis his latency has dropped on average of 20ms. There were sites that had improvment of 80+. Citrix is a strange animal in that it works like hell if there are latency issues. Depending on the size of your enterprize you may want to consider private line. I did run into a client that recently had an IPVPN soltuion running citrix over that. He has since converted to a private line and he swears he'll never go back. Curious to know what is your current latency figures are today on frame. I'd take those and get an MPLS proposal from someone and see if thier SLA's are any better then what your seeing now.

Just curious, what type of latency are you experiencing?
What is the circuit speed across the WAN (full T, 512, etc)?
How many sites are you running contiguously?
What is you bandwidth utilization %?

There could be issues on the FR with bottlenecks if you have several sites accessing at the same time on over-utilized circuits.

Let me get back to you... thanks for the reply!!
