i have set up a windows 2000 and metaframe 1.8 with one external modem - this is a test environment.

when i dial in i can see the line ringing on the modem but nothing else happens. it doesnt connect via metaframe.
i can see the modem fine under citrix connection config and also under the citrix manager - it says it is under listening mode.
i have checked the security settings and they are the same as the older citrix server. i have added licenses also to both citrix and terminal server.
everything seems fine - i am able to connect via the lan and use all the appps just fine.
any ideas of why the phone lines is not connecting with metaframe?
thanks

Did you add the modem using the Modem Applet in Control Panel or the Citrix Connection Configuration in MetaFrame Tools?

If you used the Control Panel, then you will need to remove the Modem, reboot and then install the modem using Citrix Connection Configuration.

Citrix does not recognize the modem unless you install it in this way. Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA

yes - i have done it via the connection configuration.
i went ahead and removed metaframe and re-install it again - now when i try to install the modem from the connection manager it wont take it. the modem is connected to com 1 but on the connection configuration i see com 2 - if i change the modem to com 2 the connection configuration changes to com 1 - it is only taking 1 com - and wont take the modem

Check to see if the modem is displayed in the Modem applet in Control Panel. If it is, remove it from their and then try installing through MF Connection Config. You might wanna reboot in between. Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA

yes, i removed the modem from the applet - re-started and added it via the citrix connection config -
when i open the new connection window i see com1 and com2 so i choose com1 where the modem is and install modem - when it is done i dont see the modem added i just see com2 instead. it is supporting only one com port it seems.
