Afternoon,

I am wondering what the best way to get users into our Metaframe server via the internet would be under the following conditions..

I have two Metaframe XPe servers setup in a server farm connected via ethernet to our LAN. The lan connects to the internet via our proxy server.. (Microsoft Proxy 2.0 SP1)

The proxy currently has three network cards, one for the internet, one for the LAN, and one that connects to our DMZ. Our web server sits in the DMZ and currently runs nothing but Outlook Web Access.. (Basically a web mail system for exchange..)

So, my plan is to set up NFuse on the web server. Have clients connect to the web server, log in, and run their applications. At this point, I can log in to the NFuse web page, I see a list of applications, I choose an application and get the ICA file, and then, the system fails. The problem is that from the internet, you cannot currently connect to the Metaframe servers because they are located on the LAN. How should I confiugre the proxy so that it allows clients to get access to the farm? Can I set up the Metaframe servers to relay all application session data back to the IIS server and have that relay back out to the clients?

(I'm not sure how to poke holes through the proxy for multiple servers.. I would need to use different ports for each. Is there some way in NFUSE to specify the IP addresses and ports for the XML service for each specific server in the farm?)

The ports you need to open are in the NFuse admin guide - 1494 for ICA browsing, 1604 for UDP, and 1023 and above for client access.

If you are using NAT, then set alternate IP addresses on the MetaFrame servers, and set the clients to access the external address instead of the internal one (by adjusting the Server Location).

My guess is that this is what you need to do, if you can see all applications in your NFuse page.

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks for the help on the ports! But, this wont work. I am not using NAT, im using Microsoft Proxy. So, the choices here are either find a way to server proxy the computers, or try something else? I cant give the metaframe boxes external IP's. How can I get it through the Proxy box? Is there a way to change the XML ports on each server so that they are different? IE. make one port 83 and the other 84? That way I can server proxy each server through the same IP address but different ports ono our proxy server.
