Citrix Metaframe XP TS license Problem ?

Hi

I currently have a 20 User citrix MP XP FR3 server that is set-up on windows 2000 SP3(Not a DC). The Server is running TS as Remote Administration mode which prevents more than 2 con-current users logging in to citrix. How can i ensure more than 2 con-current users can log-in to the system ? (all users are on windows xp),

Hi,

Put it in application mode and ensure that you have a Terminal Server Licensing service running on a DC (if it's a 2003 domain) and that you have licenses.

Oops...If its a 2000 domain TS Licensing requires it running on a DC. 2003 will allow the TS Licensing service to run on a non-DC server.

Also, to move to Application mode, Add/Remove Windows Components, Terminal Services, then consider re-applying the service pack you have on those server(s).

Hi,

You install TS Licensing service on any DC, no, you don't need a license for this.

However, you do need Terminal Service CAL's. The service will distribute Temporary licenses to non 2000 devices but you will need to buy licenses at some point.
