We have just installed Citrix XP on a Dell Poweredge 4400 server on windows 2000, so far I am very impressed but I have a couple of questions that I need help on.

1) We have problems like applications dissapearing when you minimize them, they seem to be fixed with the Citrix XP on Terminal Server patches, problem is, we are running on Win2K, can you install these patches on Win2K?

2) We had real problems with a DeskJet 1125C driver, it caused BSOD's on our server, in the end we installed the Microsoft 1120C driver for Win2K and HP's driver for the desktop as we are using NT4 Wks. From this experience, I am going to only use Microsoft drivers on the server, is that what others have found?

3) When we (sometimes) add a new PC to the server, it seems to loose all it's connections, the ICA connection centre says the applications are running but we can't see them. The only way to fix this is to then re-boot the Citrix server, this could be related to question 1 me thinks.

Thanks for any help, Daniel

1) There is a patch for disappearing applications on Citrix's site.

2) HP Printers + Terminal Services = headaches with flaky drivers. You're right to stick with Microsoft equivalents. I think Citrix are working on a kind of generic driver with APIs that actually work with manufacturer's drivers - but I'll believe it when I see it...

3) Are you saying that every time you try to connect from a new client, the apps disappear for everyone? I hope the patch works for you. Are you using the latest clients? Can the problem be fixed by just kick-starting the IMA service?

Hope this helps
