I have a user who is getting "Citrix Metaframe server is not available, please try again later" after being connected for about 10 minutes. If he connects through our VPN connection he gets disconnected after about 2-3 minutes. User is running Citrix 8.1 on Win XP. Anyone run into this problem? Any ideas?

If this user is always connected from remote (VPN/Dial-in) than is seems that you have a little problem with your TCP/IP connection. This is a known problem for remote connections on Windows 2000 and MetaFrame 1.8/XP servers.
If you are in this situation, you should enable the ICA keep-alive options. How to do this depends on the MetaFrame version you're using.

We had a similar issue here, try the ICA keep alive and also try the 9.x client
