I setup MFPS 3.0 and published Word 2003. This works fine.

I then tried publishing Outlook 2003, pretty much following the exact same procedure I did for Word, and everything appeared okay until I actually tried to run it from a client.

When I try to run it everything appears to be fine, but then I get:

---------------------------
OUTLOOK.EXE - Application Error
---------------------------
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Any ideas?

I would be uninstalling and re-installing again. Clear file directories as well in between. You could also get filemon and Regmon from

I can run Outlook 2003 fine locally, just not via Citrix. [sad]

I meant uninstall from citrix server and then back on Citrix server. You have to run the tools on the citrix server too.

No, I meant, I can run Outlook 2003 fine locally on the Citrix server. And, it runs Word and Excel fine, both locally and over Citrix. What do you mean by "the tools"?

One of the troubleshooting tips is, does it run locally on the server. You have obviously done this, that does NOT guarantee it will run through ICA.

The tools I am talking about are filemon and regmon from the above web site.

So, it turns out that the "solution" is to turn off Data Encryption Proection for Outlook. o_O This seems REALLY DUMB to me...but it works...which is sad.

Well there you go, guaranteed to be a dead clever thing eh.

But thanks for publishing the solution.
