I have several remote users connecting to Metaframe 1.8. All users connect with the 32-bit client. One user connects but their printer does not auto create. I can add it manually, but it will not auto create. Does anyone have a suggestion to why this is happening? The Citrix is running on Win2000, and the user is using Win2000. The drivers are on both machines.

I just posted this on another thread, but I'm sure it will work for you, depending on what type of printer and the driver the client is using locally.

Try this:
Go to the client machine and find out what printer driver the user is using for his printer locally. Write it down exactly (spaces and all) to be on the safe side.

Next, hop on your Citrix server and find the system32 directory. In there, you should have a file called wtsuprn.ini. Open it in notepad and add a line exactly as the others in the file. Change the first printer name to the exact name of the driver and then the second name on the line to the name of a driver you have installed on the server that is compatible.

For example, for an HP LaserJet 6P I would do the following:

"HP LaserJet 6P" = "HP LaserJet 4"

You should then be able to log the user on and go into the printers directory and see the printer.

You might have trouble with certain printers. And please let us know what driver the he/she is using locally.
