Hi

we have a future project coming up which may result in one of our current farms being split and the physical location of one of the servers may change . Two simple questions;

1) Does Load Balancing work across subnets and if so how much re-configuration is required.

and

2) With NFuse, can the IIS reside on the same box as Citrix metaframe, ie 1 box with metaframe, nfuse and IIS or does it need to sit on a different server.

Win2k Advanced server, SP2, Citrix Metaframe 1.8, all SPs and patches.

Any comments gratefully recieved!!! :)

1) No, Load Balancing cannot work over subnets.

2) Yes, NFuse, IIS and MetaFrame can co-habit on the same server - but at a compromise. Better to have an old desktop machine as a separate IIS server than share Internet Services with Terminal Services. Even better, use Apache as your Internet server...:)

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

thanks for your quick reply....

Am I right in presuming that the only consequence of moving one of the servers to a different subnet is the loss of the load balancing service on that server, but it will still be visible to the farm and accessable through NFuse\PN.

cheers
