I am a Network admin for UnitedEquity. Recently, I had to send a few messages to citrix users (a CEO) using the send message function in the Admin Console on Citrix. My CEO now believes that I was monitoring what she was doing and sending the text messages let her know that I was on her machine and actively monitoring her. Shadowing is not enabled. Totally Misconstrued to say the least. Is there any information or opinions that could be offered to help in dealing with this situation?

thank you..

I would sit her down and show her what the Management Console does. As far as I know it only shows the processes being used, also when I shadow anybody theres a window that opens on their screen that has a button that clearly says "Stop Shadowing". I don't know if you can shadow someone without that bar there.

I agree with Philly that the best way to deal with it would be to actually show her how you sent the message, using a test, and show her what you are and are not capable of. It also might help if you have other citrix admins with you to 'back you up' that you can't see what she's doing because that portion of the software isn't available.

BTW: you can (and we sometimes do) shadow users without their knowledge. To do so, open their user properties in active directory, click the 'remote control' tab, and uncheck 'require user's permission'. Very useful for troubleshooting at remote locations when the user is away from the computer. Our user's have an understanding that big brother may be looking over thier shoulder at any time. Muahahahaha

Thank you so much for both of your responses. Excellent ideas. Definately give them a try and see how it pans out. Frustrating to say the least but I guess that is how the cookie crumbles.

Thanks!!!
