Hello!
I'm having problems with connecting through ICA clients
on 3 new IBM Thinkpad A30 (W98 Sec Ed.)
When I try to connect the window "Connecting" appears for a few seconds and then it dissapears and nothing happends.

I have tried with different versions of ICA client including
the newest one 6.20, but the problem is the same.

Does anyone ha a clue about this?

(I have about 30 well functioning ICA- clients before....)

Kind regards // Micke

Sounds like a Network problem......can you see the Network Neighbourhood.....????

What protocol are you using on the servers/clients...????

R U using DHCP or static addresses....????

The network seems to work fine, ping to the Citrix-server works, printing works, so I don't think the network is a problem.

Are you publishing an app or a desktop?

Are you trying to connect across a point to point network, on a LAN, or over the internet?

What protocol are you setting up for the client when you create the Citrix session?

1.I have both published apps and desktop, non of them works from the new Thinkpads.
2.Point to point network.
3.TCP/IP

Are other devices able to connect on the same Network segment....??? R they using the same Citrix client....???

I had a similar problem on a couple of my clients across a point to point connection. They weren't Thinkpads, though... Anyway, on a couple of the stations, I believe I resolved this issue by looking at the properties of the ICA session that was created. By default, it was using TCP/IP + HTTP as the default protocol, and I changed it to plain TCP/IP without HTTP. That seemed to work. I think on one client, I ended up reinstalling the Citrix Client altogether... I see above that you've tried many client versions, though, so I know you have tried reinstalling the client... Check the protocol, however and see if that makes any difference.

What about the video settings? Try changing the client to connect at a basic 640x480 16 color connection and see if it works... Could be video driver related?????

Yes there are other client who can connectfrom the same segment and Yes they have one of the client versions that I have tested.

I will try with only TCP/IP and 640x480.

Hi Mickelkpg,

I am willing to go out on a limb and assume your laptops are running 98 or something similar. I had the exact same issue with one of our clients. I tried for almost two months. I then noticed that the laptops that couldn't connect were running 98SE. I upgraded them to 2kPro and no more issues! I am almost completly positve that it's an OS issue. Try it out on one if you can, and let me know if it works.

Thanks,
Madan

Did the drive mapping work...???...if not....

It could be the MAXMPXCT and MAXWORKITEMS problem with Win95/98.......try changing these reg. keys on the Server to be non-zero ending....(the last 2 characters)...

Hope this helps......

The problem seems to be video driver related.
When I changed the resolution to 640x480 it worked!
(I am now locking for updated drivers from IBM, because
the apllication I will run does not work in 640x480)
