Citrix and windows 2003 vs 2008

I'm trying to find some information on citrix and the performance differences from windows 2003 to x64 windows 2008. Online articles would be ok, but I'd rather hear it from someone here who's actually done the upgrade.

We use Citrix as a published desktop, and then just use published content on the desktops. So we're not streaming apps to desktops, it's all done the servers themselves.

At the moment, we've got six PS4 servers that hold about 15 people a piece. We can put 20 people on one, but with the apps we use the memory just plain runs out..

Curious if there's any benefits to windows 2008 r2 with Xen 5 or 6 when it comes to performance versus win2003. Anyone gone down this road yet and care to share your likes, dislikes, surprises, or anything??

With Windows 2k8 there is a lot of memory overhead so you will need to over size your memory resources.
Just got back from a Systems Round Table for Epic (Medical Application) and they were seeing that Win2k8 is just a heavy memory hog by itself so be careful with undersizing your memory.

We just did a Hardware (IBM HS20 to HP DL360 G6) and Software (Citrix 4.0 to XenApp 5.0) with Win2k3 EE x64 R2. Our user density with 32bit was roughly around 30 users per box and we jumped up to being able to maintain about 200 concurrent connections to our servers with x64 bit.
