I have a user that when trying to run an Access 97 program gets the error message "Couldnt use C:\wtsrv\system32\system.mdw file already in use". Yet when any other user tries to open the same database they are fine. A server reboot fixes the problem but after a few days happens again to only that user.
Any thoughts.

I believe i have seen a similar problem. In our case it was an issue of the first user gaining access to the file. Subsequent users were locked out. I think our solution was to change the permissions on the file to read only.

we had this too, the security permissions on the file were to blame, the user hogging the file was a domain admin and therefore had full control on the file (big no no on this file)
