I've got a Citrix PS 3 Farm running. The master Jet/Access DB runs from my AD DC server, where my Citrix server accesses it from. Don't ask me why it was done this way - it was done before I got may hands on it!

I'd like to upgrade to PS 4 and I've been able to do this on the Citrix box but can't do this on the AD box because you can't install PS4 to a DC.

My Boss has asked if we could migrate the Jet/Access DB to MSDE (Cos it's free and comes with Citrix). He's thinking of running it on the AD DC server with the Citrix Server again acessing from here.

So a couple of questions.
Is it possible to run PS4 like this?
If so any pointers how to do it please?
How would you convert Jet/Access to an MSDE format?

Thanks ever so much for in advance for any responses.

Kind regards,

Pete

Thanks for the reply enigma99.

Brilliant articles!

Only one further question the Brian Madden article mentions a downloadable "setup.ini" file.

Unfortunately, as this is now a fairly old article the link to the file does not appear to work and I'm assuming the file has probably been removed.

Do you or anyone else have a copy of that file please?

Regards,

Pete
