CiscoWorks2000: problems after upgrade

We have the following problem after we had updated the CW2000 on our Sun-machine:

The login window can be accessed without failures.
When we fill in the user and password and click "connect",
there is no response at this time.
Our feeling is that the user/password verification is ok,
because if we fill in a wrong user, we get an authentication failure.
The Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 is running on a NT 4.0 machine.
Installed is Java Plugin Ver. 1.3.1.
If we install a newer Plugin version 1.4.1, the next menu
can be opened. But later a message comes up, that we need
a Java Plugin Version 1.3.1 and so we have the old problems
again.


Any ideas? Please help me!!!

Hi Zifko,

There are 3 things to check to get CW2K clients running properly :

1. Is the browser at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 with Service Pack 1?
2. Is the JRE 1.3.1 ?
3. Is the JVM at least : Java Virtual Machine version 5.0.0.3167

Is you JVM correct ? I have had instances where things don't quite work right as the JVM is wrong. You can check it by typing 'jview' at the command prompt (see

http://www.nbnetworks.co.uk/cw2k/quick_tips/jvm_ver.htm).

You can't get the JVM from microsoft anymore, but you can get it from

http://www.download.com

(search for JVM)
