I can't get Ciscoworks to work with Windows XP IE6 and SP2. Anyone else have this problem yet?

I have to use Java 1.3.1 because that's the only thing Ciscoworks will allow. Is there a way around this?

kushalpa ,

Ciscoworks runs fine on WIN2000 machines with Java 1.3.1
I have not tried with XP,if you like you can experiment with
Netscape communicator and see if it works

I figured it out.

Due to certain law suits Microsoft was forced to remove it's MS Java Virtual Machine from it's software lineup. This started to be enforced with XP SP2. So the MS JVM was uninstalled during the SP2 install and Ciscoworks requires it to run properly.

But the big problem is that Microsoft has removed all reference to it on their web site because they are legally not allowed to distribute it anymore. So i was able to find it at an obscure site, install it, then re-install Java 1.3.1 and everything is running now on XP_SP2.

Thx.
