Hi - I'm a newbie to CW2k- got a question regarding new devices, and how Campus Manager is supposed to know about them.

I believe that the CiscoWorks ANI server may not be discovering correctly-

The customer has configured all SNMP/telnet/enable on each of their switches- but they have two problems.

(1) Some (but not all?) MAC addresses are out of date in the Campus Manager
and (2) I think the new switches aren't being found...

I was manually adding the switches to their RME, and that's worked fine- but Campus Manager appears not to know the switches-
ANI Server seems as if it'd be involved, based on the following info from another forum here, but I'm not sure how I could diagnose if the ANI server isn't discovering for some reason...

I found useful information posted by: fmonteiro in the following Tek forum:
Campus Manager and RME device update possible !!! no hp nmb !
thread63-600028 was what told me that ANI server sends info to RME, not the other way round (by default), and that ANI server _should_ autodiscover switches with the correct SNMP config in them-

I can telnet to the switches from the CiscoWorks server, and find them in DNS, but no go on finding MAC addresses or IP addresses in those switches in Campus Manager...

Tim
