We currently have a Nortel Networks pbx and a Symposium call center server at our site. Cisco reps have approached us with their IP product. I am wondering if any of you out there have worked with the Nortel product line and the Cisco call center product line and what your opinion is on the products.

Thanks

We are running both Symposium and Cisco at different sites. The main difference is that your supervisors will lose a lot of user configurable agent features with Cisco. Nortel has this built in so a super can login and configure agents. With Cisco you cannot give them access to just part of the system-so you have to lock them out. This means that they have to come to you for things they previously could do themselves.

niloc1, which Cisco product are you referring to? IPCC Express or Enterprise?

In nortel land you can see what happend with a call by pulling the ECallByCall data which is out of order and call id's are all over the place. How does the Cisco call center software compare? Is there a way to pull call and call event data that is understandable?
