We are a Traditional Telephony Vendor looking to add an All VOIP solution to our product line. We have been approached by both CISCO & 3COM to become a dealer.

Does anybody out there have any experience with both products that can provide me with some "un-biased" feedback?

Thanks.

it depends...

what is your customer base size?

for smaller installations, 3com is cheaper..

for larger installations the cisco scales larger..

cisco has also released the callmanager express which is a small version that runs on a router.

It treuly depends on what kind of customers you are service. For smaller installations, I would argue that call manager express is cheaper, but it is lacking on features also. Another question is how technical all your employees? Can they handle the switch from TDM to an IP environment? There is a world of difference.

Personally, I was a LAN/WAN guy so the transition to VoIP was really simple for me, I just had to learn a few new terms.

It is what it is!!
