Hi, can any one help before I lose all my hair :)

I have a cisco 1600 and a NEW Cisco 1800 Which I am trying to VPN together. (Done this before using 1600'S)

I setup the 1800 as a replacement and use the HTTP interface to configure the VPN. and it comes up working.
and If I tracert across I get TWO Hops the ROUTER (Cisco 1800) and the remote Server.
(After configuring the remote end with the MIRROR config)
Every thing works fine from the side of the new 1800.
EG VNC Works Fine.

At the other end 1600 I PING a server on the side of the 1800 it is working.
However if I tracert
I get
Router 1600
****** (Some one not replying)
Server at remote end.

And if I try VNC from this side.
It asks for the Password, but the screen refresh data never comes back and finally fails.

Am not sure I explained this well :), as it has already been a few Weekends of tinkering, and not getting anywhere closer.

the reason for the change is to swap from a T1 (Serial X21) to a newer RJ45/IP terminated connection from our ISP.

On the Cisco 1800 Both Inside and Outside are connected using the ETHERNET ports (Not using a WIC)
with the 0.0.0.0 route going to the ISP supplied router.

Anyone seen something similar with an Extra (Hidden) HOP occuring in one direction on a VPN ?
And everything working only one way!

Many Thanks, hope for any reply PLEEEASE.....
