After intalling and de-installing Cisco VPN client, I am unable to connect to my lan group. The IP is pingable, DHCP assigned, but that is all.

I uninstalled, reinstalled the network adaptors, reran network wizard to no avail.

Windows XP Pro SP2, Intel Centrino.

Thanks for any advice ...

I deinstall it. Additionally, I went through manual deinstall of wht it left behind. So, when you say disable, did I miss something in the process, please?

Well You should be able to "disable" the virtual adapter it creates. Sounds like you had a policy installed not allowing traffic out. You say you are able to ping. What OS do you have?

Thank you for your help. I had uninstalled the virual adaptor but the problem was, as you identified it, in the WIN XP/firewall having been reset. I cannot really pinpoint how it happened but when I reset it to the baclup taken before VPN client install it worked.

Again, thanks for your advices...

This problem is knowned, on previous versions of client you need to reinstall windows or restore previous config ...
But now try to reinstall it, uncheck statefull firewall option and then unstall it, it would work ;)
