Cisco VPN connection...Telnet & Ping work on XP, not W2K

I am using Cisco VPN client to connect to 3rd party site.

A Windows XP computer makes a successful connection and then I can use telnet to connect to another server. I can PING the server as well.

Using two different Windows 2000 computers, I can make a successful VPN connection, but I cannot telnet to needed server nor can I PING the server.

Any ideas on this problem?
