I ran across the strangest problem today. I have a user on Windows XP SP1, running Cisco Systems VPN Client 3.6.1. He is using DHCP for his IP settings. He connects to several different remote sites using the Cisco VPN Client. When connecting to one particular site, his DNS server settings change (as expected), but when he disconnects his DNS server settings do not change back. In fact, when I go into the TCP/IP properties for his LAN connection, the settings have changed from "obtain automatically" to static settings. I change the settings back to "obtain automatically", connect the VPN client to the remote site, disconnect, and the DNS server settings are static again. I copied his VPN profile to a couple of different workstations and it works as expected. This problem only occurs from his computer. Has anybody else ever come across this? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I have seen this problem with my Win2K-SP4 box. It appears my Cable Router is not passing the DNS info to the client. If I hard code the DNS it works fine.
