Hey All,

I manage a Cisco VoIP phone system (Cisco Unified CM 6.1). A user has asked me to add various extensions to their phone so they can see when these people are on the phone. How can I configure it so that I add these extensions but the user doesn't receive Caller ID information when the extension rings or the "missed calls" notifications?

Basically, all the user wants is to see when the extension is in use or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You need to configure them as BLF (busy lamp field) keys and not as line apperances.

Thanks for the info. Since you mentioned this, I've been playing with BLF speed dials and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure what the problem is. We only have one presence group (so all devices, directory numbers, etc, should be in it).

Any ideas on what I should check? If it helps, the system was set up to use SCCP and not SIP.

Thanks!

On the device itself there is a protocol specific area with a subscribe css under it. is that populated?
If not, populate accordingly and test again.

It was not. I set it accordingly and the BLF speed dial works!!!!

Thank you!!! :-D
