Cisco VLAN

I wonder i someone please could tell me how configure a vlan on a Cisco 2600 Router.
I would also like to bind this vlan to one of the routers interfaces.

you can not configure a vlan on a router. You can only trunk it to a switch that has vlans set up.

Must it be trunked to a cisco switch or will it work with other labels such as HP?
