i manager an increasingly growing network and for years i've been using sonicwall router/firwealls they are OK and for the most part do the job. but now that i have over 75 remote sites and i host our ecommerce site as well i'm thinking i need to get a more grown up infrastructure, i'm thinking the big boys use cisco and so should i but i dont know where to start for the most part.

i understand i should use the cisco asa for my remote locations and my main since i dont have too many users at each location but i do need a site-to-site vpn but i would like a router/firewall to handle my ecommerce site which gets a decent amount of traffic.

thanks guys.

How many users? Definitely look into the ASA series. For my company, we have a 5510 that terminates SSL VPN remote access vpn connections from 30 remote locations, over an MPLS backbone. Works great. For your e-commerce, you may need more HP (5520?)...

well its retail stores, and a couple warehouses, so 3 users (3 registers ) at 70 locations, 90 users at HQ and 20 users at 4 remote warehouse/regional locations.

Cisco equipment is no harder to implement and manage than other manufacturers. It does have the advantages of widespread use and broad support of their products. There are a lot of independent contractors and those looking for employment to help in set-up and long-term management. The learning curve for Cisco equipment isn't bad and there are a lot of resources that can help.
