Hello Everyone My question is Cisco Unity Connection does integrate to the AVAYA MNS via VPIM and I have it working so that the message passes thru and ends at AVAYA Modular Messaging perfectly fine. The problem Occurs when the Cisco Unity Publisher goes off line and the Cisco Unity Sub comes on line.. The Message from Cisco goes thru the AVAYA MNS and ends in the mailbox of the Modular Messaging Platform but always says wierd computer voice of where the message came from and then it says WITH ATTACHMENT. It never has the original Voice Message with it anylonger it is always some attachment. ( Not sure if it is a SMTP issue os the machine nemaes not matching or something) The Pub is 1 IP Address and the Sub is a differnt IP Address. I requested Cisco to make both machines have the same identical Machine name so when it passes thru the Avaya MNS the mailboxnumber@ciscomachinename will always be the same. But we have not had a chance to test that yet because to do that we need to turn the Pub off and we need a day to do that. Anyone ever come across this redundancy issue ( Pub - Sub to AVAYA MNS?) and have it work and if you did do I need to make DNS have round robbin IP? DO I need to make DNS have MX record that says try this IP one first then always try this IP second? We will be having discussions with AVAYA MNS technician tomorrow Jan6th, 2012
