Cisco Unity 5: Building two separate Unity 5 servers QUESTION?

We have a Cisco Unity 5 server configured for Unified Messaging with Exchange 2003. We want to do a backup (during DiRT) on our current server. Then we want to do a restore of the backup on another server.

It won't be configured for failover, but I want two active Unity 5 servers even though our production Cisco CallManager 5 server is pointing to only one, the production Unity server.

The other one will be used for testing in our lab because we want to point the Unity server to new Exchange partner server and don't want to impact the production if there are issues.

Are there are any issues or concerns we should know about? Can we do this? Any feedback for those far more experienced with Unity 5 than I?

Thank you

cf

You'll have to spoof the MAC address of the active server onto your 'backup server' or your Unity license won't work. Other than that you can build it.

pndscm is right.

Caos is the natural order of things...
