I am in the process of setting up a network that has three Nortel routers all connecting via frame relay, to a cisco router in one location. I am concerned about compatability, and was wondering if there is anything in particular i should watch out for.I have questions about:

LMI- I know that cisco supports annexd, as does nortel and should not be a problem.
HDLC- is the default encapsulation for cisco

any input would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Make sure you encapsulate all your serial interfaces using IETF

Example

interface Serial0
no ip address
no ip directed-broadcast
encapsulation frame-relay IETF
frame-relay lmi-type ansi

This is for cisco routers. I havent done any for routers like Nortel.

on the frame-relay interface dlci # IETF ( make sure you have the IETF on the end of the command). This will help insure a proper connection to the other routers ( non cisco ). #-) I hope this helps !!! Jeter@LasVegas.com The best answer I could ever give is the one to maintain my Sanity
