quick question - i use cisco network assistant to monitor 3560 switches - i have noticed that a few switches show up with a question mark and cant access them.
whats the command to enable this functionality on these switches [3560 12.2(35)]. thanks

I wonder if cdp is turned on.

sh cdp

that will show if the cdp is enable , you will have to check the interfaces to see if the interface is set not to allow cdp pass through it.

you might be talking about snmp monitoring though

in which case you need to
enable snmp-server community snmpname R
enable snmp-server community snmpnamerw RW

the r = read only rw = read&write
snmpname = the name/"password" to obtain info from the device.

snmpnamerw = same as above but you can write info to the device enable / shut interfaces etc.
