Hi all,

I have 3 x Cisco SPA 112 ATAs all registered back to a Unify Openscape Business PBX.

The SPA 112s are not on the local site to the PBX they are on a remote site which has a VPN connection to the main site where the PBX is located.

Now the issue I face is that the VPN sometimes has a tendency to drop so the SPA 112s registration fails as it cannot see the PBX.

Once the VPN reconnects the SPA 112s don't re-register until the are rebooted, is there anyway of stopping this so they automatically re-register?

Do you have the SPA 112 setup to re-register periodically? I would think that would take care of it. I don't know the SPA 112, but I did see mention of this in the documentation:

Not that I know of and I'm not sure that it uses a proxy

We don't use proxies either, but some of our radio over IP endpoints don't work unless we enter one. So we enter the same address as both the proxy and domain. We set our registration to "enable" and expiration at 900 seconds. We also have "send keep alives" enabled and "keep alive interval" set to 20 seconds. Our devices also have an option of "Loss of media detection", which we set to "ReINVITE then Disconnect", which helps keep the connections going if there's a short network blip. Don't know if you have all of these settings on your Cisco SPA 112, but you should at least have registration and registration expiration setup to keep things connected.

I will try it and let you know. Thanks.

I have since found out that the issue is not based on the connection dropping as I checked the units and they have been up for 20 days and are registered but the units have no dial tone and when called the units answer but there's no audible ringing tone.

They are running the latest version of FW 1.4.1 SR5.
