Cisco Routers accepting 3rd party compact flash cards

Hi all, Ive been doing some research and it seems that cisco routers will accept 3rd party compact flash cards? Has anyone had any experiences with 3rd party flash cards? Are they reliable? If there any bugs or issues encountered?

Hi nfordhk,

Yes, it can, I am using a SanDisk 4G CF card on my Cisco Router 1812J for over half of year with IOS 12.4.24 T3

Just you much format the CF card by the router itself, then you can using this card to Win PC just copy the IOS image file to it.

And ... for my Class C system of 1812J, I am using
#format flash:

to format the Flash card
