CISCO router for Site2Site VPN & SmartNet

I asked on here a little while ago and a Cisco 800 series was suggested as a good reliable ADSL router to replace a couple of Netgear DG834's ...

I've got the go-ahead for that - but I've got an option for SmartNet too ... which I understand is the additional support for these boxes .. TBH it's not a heck of a lot of money but it is >10% of the purchase price of the units.
Given that I've yet to configure a Cisco box - should I at least buy the basic support ?
 
I always get Smartnet on things at work so you can 1) download new IOS for the device, 2) open up TAC support cases in case they aren't doing what they should and 3) if the hardware dies... you can get a replacement.

If it was for my house I probably wouldn't, but for work it makes sense.
