Hi folks,
I am due to start studying for my "ccna" in a week or so and i have bought myself some hardware to help me.
2 x 1603r routers
1 x catalyst 1900 series switch
1 x blackbox
1 x cable modem
I have 4 computers on my lan.
This is what i tried i connected the blackbox to the back of my router giving me 2 x ethernet ports.
I connected the ethernet cable from my cable modem to the blackbox.
I connected an ethernet cable from the 10 base port on my router to my 1900 series switch.
I then connected ethernet cables from my switch to all of my pc's.
I do not have internet access from any of my pc's now.
I believe this is because i am connected from a 10base port on my router to my switch which simply is not fast enough.
I would like it if someone could confirm this for me please.
Should i of bought a broadband cisco router instead of a 1603r router?
I have asked so many questions on so many forums people keep telling me i need this and that i just dont have a clue anymore.Originally i bought my cisco routers off ebay the chap told me it would be good enough to practice for my ccna,i was then told i needed this blackbox to give me another ethernet port, Well time is running out fast as my course starts in about a wk and i would like to be set up by then,so if anyone can advise me it would be great.
Best Regards Nige.
