thanks for the response burtsbees.

I tried your suggestion, nothing.
Begining to suspect that speedstream adsl modem.
I do have a ADSL-WIC card in the router.
Any chance of getting a sample of your config?
Here is my most recent config that does not work.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe I need
client-id on the fa0/0 after dhcp?

i might be wrong, but when u shutdown the atm 0/0, isnt the atm subif then also down?

what does show ip interface brief report?

Thanks for the response lemon13

I have tried to use the wic before, with no success,
so I shut it down to try to get connectivity going
using the adsl modem and the two fa ports with no luck at all so far.
I am going to dump the modem because it does not seem to want to cooperate.
When I have the WIC up I do pull an IP form my ISP,
but have not had any sucess routing it to my lan.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated if you could look my
config over.

ok got everything hooked up and pinging 4.2.2.2 from a client pc that IS getting an ip from the pool on the router i am getting a destination host unreachable.
Here is some out put from the router with the ADSL WIC card up & up
As you can see I am getting a Showtime from the WIC but cannot get any traffic to the LAN.
Hope this is more usable info than I have posted
previously.

You will have to update your default route:
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ATM0/0.35

If thing doesn't work after the update. As mention before in a former post please post a "Show ip nat translation"after ping from the PC.If you can ping from the router your'e getting close. Also try to find out your next hop router (ISP gateway). This can be done with a traceroute. And use this in your default route instead of the ATM interface.

Regards

Minue
I know the next hop to the ISP
How would I apply it?
In my IP nat staement?

I used the ip route with my ISP gateway and got this.
At the end it actually recognized my routers hostname,
atm sub interface gave me an address.
I was able to ping 4.2.2.2 from the router, but still destination unreachable from a client. I am getting really
close to this now I think, but just need to get it into the lan.

Thats cool!Try to ping from the PC to see if it can resolves names. Also use nslookup to see which DNS server the PC is using. On the router I would take out either the "import all" or dns-server command. The DHCP pool doesn't need both, could cause conflict.Note that "import all" is more reliable because it will pass on the ISP DNS servers. You can also try the 4.2.2.2 as a DNS server it's quit reliable.
Regards

Ok, this should be working.
I can ping google and 4.2.2.2 from the router.
I can ping 4.2.2.2 but not google from a client.
My nat translations appear to be working.
No access lists in place. Could this be it?
The WIC card sees my router hostname, and gives me an IP.
I am running the RIP protocol.
Here is my most recent config.

Hello
Do you really need help? It's seems like your'e ignoring my post.If you don't give good feedback all is worthless.
Have you done the DNS tests on the PC,if so what results did you get.
You should keep things simple for now.Get rid of RIP and hook the PC directly to the NAT router.Put back in the access-list that will allow the local subnet to be NAT.Allowing all subnet is OK for troubleshooting.

access-list 1 permit any
OR
access-list 1 permit 192.168.0. 0.0.0.255

Did this Internet connection new,was a working with the your ADSL modem?

Regards

I gave up on the modem
Working with the WIC card now.
Should I hook a dedicated PC to the WAN
or LAN side.
