Hi All,

I have a problem with two different subnets but one domain controller.
Current setup is one network on 10.0.0.x and another network with host 172.16.0.x
The domain controller is located on the 10.0.0.x network. The 172.16.0.x do have a route back to the domain controller and I can see all my network shares, mapped drive etc on hosts on the 172.16.0.x to the domain controller/file server on the 10.0.0.x.

The issues seem to be when a user logs in. The login process is every slow. The loading your personal setting seems to take around 2 mins. I have also noticed that I cannot rename any of the 172.16.0.x machines. I get a message stating that the domain controller cannot be contacted.

I can ping all over the network without any issues.

Configure relating to DNS and DHCP

ip domain lookup source-interface FastEthernet0/1
ip domain name ******
ip host orange 10.0.0.1
ip host blue 10.0.0.2
ip host green 10.0.0.3
ip host red 10.0.0.4
ip host yellow 10.0.0.5
ip name-server 10.0.0.6
ip name-server 10.0.0.7
ip dhcp excluded-address 172.16.0.1 172.16.0.30
!

Any information would be very useful.

Many thanks

Hello,

You will need to supply more info about your setup, a scrubbed config of your router would give more insight into how your network is setup. For example, what are the dhcp parameters for your 172.16.0.x clients?
