Cisco Pix 520 VPN client 3.6 no internet access

I've got a cisco pix 520 with two cards

inside
outside

with split-tunneling disabled, I can access the network just find.... I enable split-tunneling and my network access goes away...

I've read in other places, it's because the pix will not route back out the same interface the request came in on.
