Hi All,
first of all greetings to everyone, this is my first time on these forums, so i hope that no one mind it if i have written something wrong, it could be because that english is not my pri language.
actually, we have one pix 515E and we are having a wried problem in it,we have a machine which connects through this pix to establish a VPN connection using a VPN Client, problem comes after 8 hours of consistent connectivity that the vpn client drops the connection and we have to reconnect it. the difficult part in all this is that i have recently joined this company and whatever i am finding is finding on my own as the pervious network person left before i joined.. that's another store.
Anyhow's, i installed the syslog and tried to find any abnormal behaviour for this problem, but nothing which would relate or help me to diagnous this problem was found in the PIX Logs.
we have one leased line from the ISP which is terminated on the PIX.
we have group of IPs alloted by ISP to use
we have a static translation between this VPN machine IP to one outside IP given by (ISP group of IPs)
we have access-lists allowing specific ports and protocols for this VPN client machine on both inside interface and outside interface.
we have isakmp nat-traversal enable on the PIX
one important thing, just when i had joined we never had this problem of VPN disconnection plus no access-list was present for this VPN machine on this PIX and still it was connecting. wried haan.. i thought so too and even the tech support of this Company with whom we establish this connection.. help or tip or anything would be helpful, i look forward to hear a reply. thanks is advance.
