Cisco PIX 515 getting tons of input, CRC errors on both inside and out

Hell all, On a scale of 1 to 5 Cisco skills, I am about a 2 or 3. So bare with me. I am new here at this company and i did not configure this infrastructure. As far as I knw it worked fine when i got here. i have changed nothing.

Condition: Getting extremly slow download speeds. about 80kbps a second. Also, Pix Firewall in getting tons of erros on both ethernet connections, inside and out.

Ive tried restarting to no avail. Any idea in which direction I should head with this? As i said the INternet Router is showing no errors on any ports. Is it possible this is a hardware issue? Let me know If I need to provide you with more info.

New info regarding issue:

As I said before, I came into this organzation with little documention so I am now begiining to undertsand how this is set up.

At one point they had two isps and two PIX. one pix is still in the rack but powered off, the other one is the one thats giving errors. The ethernet switch (3500 series) the active PIX is pluged into are flashing orange, then green, on the LEDs for both the "internal" ocnnection and "external" connection coming from the PIX. The Internet Router is also pluged into this same ethernet switch.

I tried accessing this switch via Console to no avail. I am using the usb to serall adpater so tomorrow I am going to try and older laptop with the serial port on board. Hopefully then, i will be able to see whats going on on this switch. Man, i wish i was good at this cisco stuff. I am a server admin by trade. lol. This stuff is making my head hurt

Doe sthis sound like a possible spanning tree issue?

No, not spanning-tree. The green/orange lights are usually signs of collisions. Check speed/duplex settings on both switch ports. Try new cables as well. It is a possibility that the hardware is going bad as well.

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

Ive read varrying things on collisions. Some are ok but many are a problem. Would the collision on the switch ports on the 3500xl that are flashing orange cause erros on the corresponding interfaces on the PIX?

I am going to try my console cable via serial port on old laptop today. i sure as heck hope I can console in because if not, Im screwed. There are no backup configs for this switch.

I think i may sue previous managed service provider. lol

Yes, collisions will cause errors on interfaces. With all of those CRC and Frame errors, be sure to check physical cabling to make sure it is good.
