Hi all,

I have a bit of an issue. We traffic shape some of our clients, and all has been working well, until today.

I sped up a client for a couple of days, then tried to slow them down.

The Cisco2501 won't accept any changes. No error messages, mind you, it's just not working. I have been doing it the same as I always have.

I can and did Null their IP address, but didn't leave that in place for obvious reasons.

Has anyone ever experienced this kind of problem ?

IOS 11.2

Cheers

May have an IOS problem, do a show mem, look at free memory for the CPU and I/O.
There is a field that shows largest (b), this is the largest free contiguous memory block. If this value is getting smaller over time you have a memory leak, these can cause the problem you are experiencing. Also if you reload the router the problem goes away for a while, then starts up again.

Simplest cure is reload, if it occurs again upgrade the IOS.

memory and processor were fine, so I'll look at upgrading the IOS.

Thanks for your advice.
